Dining with dignity
Jesus calls us to feed and clothe his people
Dining With Dignity offers an opportunity to join a compassionate group who prepare and serve a hot, nutritious meal to homeless and impoverished men, women and children of St. Augustine. St. Francis In-The-Field is just one of over 30 community civic groups, churches, and other faith based groups that provide a meal 365 days a year for people in need.
Meals are served nightly at 6:00 PM in a city parking lot on the corner of Bridge and Granada streets. There are dining tables and chairs that are kept on site so everyone can sit at a table to enjoy their meal. These tables and chairs are set up and taken down by our appreciative dinner guests.
St. Francis in-the-Field’s dinner service is the third Saturday, every other month. We have a devoted team who cook, serve, and help in other ways. In addition to serving dinner, we offer a special touch. We also provide our dinner guests with new socks. We do this because our homeless brothers and sisters spend most of their days (and nights) walking the streets; so it’s crucial that their feet remain clean, dry, and blister-free.
